WORKSHOP: Hip & Pelvis Essential Anatomy & Biomechanics
Workshop: Hip & Pelvis Essential Anatomy and Biomechanics
Essential Tips for Happy Hips
Join Kathy Gabriel in an invitation to explore the anatomy and biomechanics of the hip and pelvis, particularly how to support the long term health of this joint and the rest of your body. Yoga as a practice prioritises a lot of deep hip opening and increased range of motion through external rotation which can sometimes lead to instability and even injury in the body. This workshop will help you better understand your own movement patterns and body structures to help you find more stability, ease and ultimately, support the health of your pelvis. This workshop will primarily be in lecture format and packed with lots of fun and engaging experiential exercises, somatic inquiries, discussion and Q&A to empower you with everything you need to know about the hips and pelvis!
This is great for anyone looking to understand their own anatomy and learn to move better for their health or a yoga teacher or movement educator looking to deepen their knowledge in this area to effectively serve their clients and students.

- Kathy GabrielCo-owner & Yoga InstructorAlthough yoga and complementary health was always in my family, I only picked up yoga as teenager during a period of spiritual seeking. After my mom’s passing, I found myself heart broken and spiritually lost. Initially, in order to work with grief, I sought out Buddhism and meditation which helped for many years but I soon realised I needed something more – a practical (for lack of a better word), physical and grounding practice that could support my existing framework and philosophies. From there, my understanding of health and wellness began to expand and it was through a holistic practice, I learned how to found solace, ease and balance to move through the different seasons of life. On top of Yoga, I am a certified sound therapist and trained with my beloved teacher, Gunjan Trivedi from Ahmedabad, India. I use sound to create profound spaces of rest and deep healing to help clients to overcome challenges such as anxiety, depression, fear, stress, insomnia, high blood pressure, hyper tension and chronic pain. In recent years, my fascination for the human body and movement led me down some interesting paths and trainings such as Thai Massage, Reiki, STOTT Pilates, Anatomy Trains by Tom Myers, and now I am in the midst of completing my Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy Practitioner Training with Body Intelligence. I infuse all my learnings into the broader practice of yoga and therapy to help people cultivate the art of deep presence and delve into the deeper connections of body and mind. I am deeply passionate about learning, sharing and facilitating transformational experiences relating to the self and health. I am currently based in Singapore but I travel around the world to share my love for the practice.
