WORKSHOP: Understanding Pain & Injury in Yoga

Pain and injuries in yoga workshop

Understanding Pain & Injuries in Yoga

This workshop is for people anyone who wants to learn how to listen, understand and communicate with their body with kindness through the movement modality of yoga, to prevent or heal from injuries.

“Be aware of what your body is trying to tell you. “

“Listen to your body.”

“Know your body.”

Often, phrases like these are thrown around with expectation that people would and should just understand what they mean. How do we begin listening? How do we start getting to know our body? How do we build the skill of listening to our bodies and understanding its language?  In this workshop, you will learn the building blocks of what it means to listen and communicate with your body; through the lens of your nervous system & the role in our lives and practice. We’ll explore and understand what pain, tightness, discomfort tells us and learn when and how much to push and challenge ourselves, when to pull back and when to soothe and calm ourselves.

This workshop is divided in theory and practical movement explorations. You will get to inquire deeply about your existing movement patterns and the various positions that you find challenging or painful to apply what you’ve learnt. There will also be time dedicated for discussion and answering questions.
